Ok so ive been taking a tiny bit of a break from trying to take a start at blogging but i am back. After one exhausting move, and many days trying to get settled I am finally getting into the swing. Im excited to finally have a serious shoe closet and room to show off my own shoes, as well as room to grow. And now I even have more of my own time to dedicate to trying to get this blog into some kind of enjoyable shape for other shoe lovers out there. So here it goes and many post to follow. Christmas shoes!

Well I have yet to really post any shoes of my own so I took a quick photoshoot via iphone of my shoes I got for christmas. I figured this is as good as any of shoes to start with. I was actually pretty shocked the boyfriend even fed into my addiction with getting me any shoes but as always he came through, and completly made my christmas. Only he could understand the way my brain works with sneakers and knew the exact pair in the whole world that would make me swoon. I must start by saying I am a complete Nike fan. I own a growing collection of sneakers but somehow I tend to end up back at Nike when buying, the choices are just somehow always flattering in the way they fit. Not to mention the bold color choices, usually pink, are my weaknesses.
Hot Pink Nike Dunk lows

had to get a shot of the bottoms, thats my favorite part.
So the bf got me those plus my favorite moccasins in a new color because he knows how fast I wear them out. Buying heels isnt a guys thing so im more then happy he stuck to buying sneakers and completly in love that he bought my favorite pair to add to the collection. I tend to buy tons of pink Nikes and I really have not figured out what to wear with them yet. I love the style and wish I could be edgy enough to just rock them with some harem pants but it just isn't me. I need help styling sneakers. Usually they end up with skinny jeans and a hoodie. I believe the retail of these was around $80 which is cheaper then what I spend on most all my heels so that is a score. Also for christmas I got my first pair of Nicholas Kirkwoods. SWOON. I have been eyeing his shoes for quite some time and drooling over them, sadly they just were never in the budget. Thank god for ebay and two years of searching and checking daily. A pair finally popped up in a short listing and I somehow managed to snag them at $100. Most all of his heels retail at $500 and up up upward. I told my grandma about my lustings and she told me to snag them up for my gift from her, when they arrived on christmas eve of all days it was love at first site. His platforms are so architectual yet simple and beautiful. The platform alone is what makes the shoes and is all you need to make a statement.
This shot looks ghetto I am aware but it was a quick shot on the bed to get an idea of shape, lovely painting of mine in back with a large greeting card collection around the door frame. The little fella and I save every card we get eachother and that is where he chose to hang his.

I love the snakeskin how it is incorporated into the back of the platform as well. It's the attention to detail like that, that makes a beautiful shoe.

All in all christmas was wonderfull. I am always thankfull for everything I get, I realize I am so blessed compared to so many people and I never forget these things. Well that is my last post of the day, I will be off to get some sleep tonight....a peek into my life currently involves watching the fella play some xbox, another addiction of mine, and boys are so cute how "into" games they get. I have literally watched him dose off over 10 times now mid game, full snore, and wake his self back up and go back into gaming. Adorable the dedication, makes me fall in love all over again seeing someone love gaming like myself.Well I am going to drag him into sleeping while I lay in bed watching netflix on the iphone. So addicted to Law and Order SVU right now I cannot stop. SAVE ME.

Favorite Kind of Sundays

Well today was one of my favorite ways to wind down on a sunday, by shopping. All in all it was mildly productive, to be honest I was very much restraining myself. I picked up some cute socks at Kate Spade that I had been wanting to try and wear with my heels and to be honest that was really all I bought. Sometimes window shopping is more then enough entertainment. Also Im noticing the selection of "quality" shoes out there is just dwindling. First off, I remember when Macy's was a nice place to buy a pair of shoes. It seems those day's are long gone, the selection was embarrassing. Not only do they seem to not carry any bigger name brands but the best of what they do carry is still nothing to brag on. The only good shoes I really saw were a pair of Cole Haan leather riding boots which I mostly enjoyed because of their collaboration with Nike Air. Depressing. Also nordstrom rack was not offering much of anything either. I dont know if it's the in between seasons or just lack of quality around.
Kate Spade sprinkle dot socks, $18 for two pair plus a 10% student discount which I only just now discovered.

Also I would like to maybe start showing some of my own shoe's starting with what I wore today, my go to shoe, Minnetonka moccasins. The comfort is unbeatable.

Minnetonka Moccasins...probably paid around $30 at the Saks outlet.
Tomorrow I will update with some actual phots of my own heels, I will try to do a few of those post a week to get my collection in.

Designer Spotlight: Charlotte Olympia

I figured my first actual shoe post should be about the one and only Charlotte Dellal's, Charlotte Olympia shoe line. If you do not know anything about her, (tears), thats ok because I will introduce you. She is my current favorite designer out, and one of the only designers I love that I have not been able to find a pair in my budget to own. Her shoes are breathtaking and scream fimininity. Her designs are extremely flattering to any lady, yet stand out so much from what is out there today. She is a london based designer with a knack for perfection in my eyes:

Charlotte Olympia Dolly heels: I love the unique Platform and the detail on the heel

Charlotte Olympia Paloma Satin Platform Pumps: The first pair I ever fell in love with.

Charlotte Olympia Maxine Sandals: I love the use of velvet in such a bold color.

Charlotte Olympia Esmerelda Perspex-heeled pumps: I love the heel of this shoe and it also gives a sneak peek at her signiture spider web soles that are on every shoe. Also these heels come with matching stockings to the heel color, with spider webs on the back, how much better could it get?

An Intro in to my life and Blog

Well I figured since I am, without a doubt, new to all of this I will post an intro of sorts. A little bit more into who I am and why I 'm posting. If you are this far you may have read my about me but I will still cover it a little more in depth...I am a 23 yr. old part time art student, part time waitress, and full time shoe addict. I am not rich, never have been, and never even care to be. I enjoy life more then wealth. I love having to work for what I have because I appreciate every detail. I cannot tell you where my love came from, but my only that it is from the heart. Even so it is not just any shoes I love, the love is in the design and quality. Unfortunatly those factors do not come cheap. I do most my shopping online searching hours on ebay and sales on any random site. I never buy knock off's, do not agree with the stealing of any artist designs, and do not buy just for a label. So many top brands are over priced and over rated. I enjoy looking at less known designers all the way to the best known. My love is not just in heels either, I have a wonderfull sneaker collection as well. I appreciate all types. Most often my go to shoes are moccasins for comfort, heels only for looks, and sneakers when weather requires. I want to not only post on my own shoe collection but how to get the shoes you love for any budget and to introduce shoe lovers to the many amazing designers out there. I want to list deals available, unique designs for appreciation whether affordable or not, just basically any shoe related topic for any shoe lover out there. Something for anyone. And since it is my heart and sole you will get a dose of my life thrown into the mix. I hope you enjoy!!!
